Q: What is biodynamic vortical stirring?
A.: The principle behind biodynamic vortical stirring is, putting water and tiny doses of biodynamic preparations through repeated vortexes, chaos and reversals, the water becomes highly charged with the energies contained in the substances. These energies might appear to be subtle but are actually very powerful! The quantity of preparation is minuscule compared with the volume of water: for instance 85g of horn manure or 2g of horn silica in 34 litres of water per hectare is a mind-boggling dilution.
The basic method, hand stirring in a bucket or barrel, involves making and unmaking a vortex (via chaos at reversal), until the recommended stirring time has elapsed. In the case of horn manure (500) and horn silica (501), this stirring time is one hour, based on Rudolf Steiner’s insights into cosmic rhythms. There are different stirring times for other biodynamic preparations – more on these in future articles.
One of the things to appreciate about hand stirring is its uplifting effect. Energising water in this way is also energising for oneself. An important aspect is gaining the magical benefits of right brain activity. To get into the associated alpha vibrational (meditative) state, ideally, we to give our full attention to the task. Such an approach to this type of activity can even become an extended form of prayer. This is how to turn a chore into a pleasant, fulfilling activity.
Larger scale stirring is carried out using a reversible-motor machine, or a flowform cascade, or an in-line MEA (negative charge) structured water device. Energising water with these devices tends to depersonalise the experience. So, every time we hand stir, we feel better for the (immersive!) experience, rather than being a mere bystander.
The sceptic or cynical pragmatist will always question the relationship between high dilution, stirring and energetics. In relation to vortical stirring, whether by hand or device, just accept its efficacy in supercharging water with living-realm energies.
