Palagonite  contains micro-nutrients, silicates, calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, phosphorus and trace-elements essential to plant growth. Rock dust is an important additive to our very leached and mineral depleted soils. In biodynamic agriculture, basalt dust is used as an additive in compost heaps, in making Biodynamic Manure Concentrate and Biodynamic Paste and is broadcast over paddocks and garden beds in conjunction with a spray of Horn basalt.
